I ordered this thinking it would work with my back door, but it didn’t fit quite right and I ended up spending way more time messing with it than I expected. Maybe it works fine on other doors, so I’m curious if other people had better luck than I did. I just wish the compatibility details had been a little clearer before I bought it.

I swear this thing was designed to test people on purpose. What should’ve been a simple pet door install turned into an all-day project. The instructions were weirdly confusing, like they skipped the one step you actually need, and a few of the parts didn’t line up right no matter what I did. I had to take it apart and redo stuff multiple times, which started to feel less like bad luck and more like somebody wanted me to give up and hire a pro. Definitely not worth the headache

I sent my return back around a couple weeks ago, and I’m still waiting for the refund to show up. It’s been a bit of a headache trying to figure out what’s going on

The flap felt kind of cheap to me, and it cracked quickly. I’m not sure if mine was defective or what, but it never really sealed right for us

This thing is way too small for my Lab. It might work for some tiny little lap dog, but for a bigger dog it’s basically a joke. Definitely not what I needed.

I bought this pet door thinking it would be a simple fix for letting my dog in and out, but the noise has been really frustrating. Every time he pushes through it, the flap smacks shut so loudly that everyone in the room stops what they’re doing and looks over.

It’s especially bad at night. If my dog uses it while I’m sleeping, it wakes me up, and my bedroom isn’t even right next to the door. I didn’t expect a pet door to be completely silent, but this is way louder than I imagined.

Maybe it works better in a garage or a busier house where the sound doesn’t stand out as much, but for my home it’s been a mistake. I really wish I had gone with something quieter because I’m disappointed.

It might work fine for a bigger dog that doesn’t care about pushing through a stiff flap, but for smaller pets I really wouldn’t recommend it. I wish I had looked more closely at the measurements and maybe watched a video or two before ordering

I ordered this from idealpetproducts.com thinking it would be a quick weekend install, but once I got everything unpacked and halfway laid out, I realized the kit was missing some of the hardware. So there I was, mid-project, having to stop and run out to buy screws. Not the end of the world, but definitely frustrating when you expect everything to be ready to go right out of the box. For the price, I really didn’t expect to be chasing down extra parts myself.
